About us
Asociación Ciudadana Migueleños en Acción (MIACCIÓN) was born as a citizen initiative in August 2013 to manage and protect the San Miguel cemetery park, a public space with great historical and social value; this is how the declaration of the first historical complex of San Miguel was achieved, made up of the first four quadrants of the cemetery, the children's park and parking.

Then it is constituted as a non-profit association on October 13, 2014 and registered in the Registry of Non-profit Associations and Foundations of the Ministry of the Interior under agreement no. 0116 of May 28, 2015, with the purpose of creating and promoting a civic, democratic, participatory and active culture focused on the rescue, restoration, conservation and promotion of heritage, identity, culture and the arts; the preservation of the environment, the promotion of green living and solid waste management, promote tourism and local development of the department of San Miguel.

Citizen participation
Transparencia Oriente is the project carried out together with Fundación de Apoyo a Municipios de El Salvador (FUNDAMUNI) with the support of the Pro-Integrity Project of USAID El Salvador, with the objective of training 120 women from the departments of Usulután, San Miguel, Morazán and La Unión in transparency, access to public information and social control. April to December 2022.
Cultural heritage and tourism
Support for the revitalization of the historic center of San Miguel through the promotion of cultural tourism in the San Francisco and La Cruz neighborhoods with the support of the USAID Municipal Governance Project, with the aim of laying the foundations for cultural tourism in San Miguel.

Environment
San Miguel Recicla is the environmental project focused on environmental education promoting the 3R culture and stockpilling center for usable waste such as plastics, aluminum, glass, cardboard, printed paper, electronic waste and cigarette butts.

Mesa Integral por el Desarrollo de San Miguel (MI SAN MIGUEL) is a space for participation, cooperation and joint action between citizens, organizations, companies and institutions of the municipality of San Miguel with the aim of building a more inclusive community with higher quality of life. San Miguel Recicla
Project to promote an environmental education process that generates changes in attitudes and usable waste management through recycling with citizens, companies and institutions of the municipality of San Miguel.

The project includes 2 components to respond to the garbage problem through:

Environmental Education: 3R culture workshops (Reduce, reuse and recycle)
Recycling collection center: Reception of usable waste such as PET plastics, high and low density, aluminum and steel food cans, food glass and beverages, cardboard, printed paper, electronic waste such as computers and cell phones; and cigarette butts.
